The Doctor had been right beside Rose when she’d stopped at one of the market stalls, then she’d turned around and he was gone. She scanned the crowd, trying not to worry; he couldn’t have gone far, she’d only been distracted for a minute.
“Alright, little lady?” a voice beside her asked, and she turned to see a lumpy creature beside her, with big, bulbous eyes.
“Fine. Just looking for my friend; he was here a minute ago.”
The alien laughed, shimmered, and there was the Doctor, holding an odd device.
“Fooled you! Isn’t this great? Think I’ll buy it.”
