A/N: Double drabble.
It’s one of those crystal-clear winter mornings, where the blue sky overhead seems brittle, like it might shatter if something was thrown at it.
Everything around Ryo is rimed with hoarfrost, a delicate, lacy edging of ice crystals, turning the mundane into a dazzling spectacle that hardly seems it can be real, not in the middle of such a busy urban area. A wonderland of sparkling jewels amid the grime and the litter. Even the air for once seems untainted by traffic fumes.
Despite the beauty around him, and the invigoratingly chill air, Ryo treads carefully, making sure to keep half an eye on the ground ahead. The last thing he needs is to slip on a patch of ice; falling down would spoil his enjoyment of the most glorious day so far this winter.
He spares a brief glance for his partner. “Isn’t it a beautiful morning?”
“It’s pretty enough, but I’d like it better if I didn’t haveta be out in it. Some things are better viewed from indoors.” Dee’s breath makes plumes in the air as he speaks.
Ryo laughs. “Appreciate the blue sky and sunshine while we’ve got it. Tomorrow it might be raining or snowing.”
