“Ha! Found it!” Dee crowed triumphantly from the bedroom.
“Found what?” Ryo was busy in the kitchen, fixing dinner, having shooed his lover out for getting in the way. Dee could be helpful when he tried, but it had been one of those times when he’d been more interested in groping Ryo than in helping him with the cooking. As much as Ryo loved his partner, sometimes he was a bit of a nuisance.
“My Santa hat! It’s December, babe; Christmas is just around the corner. Gotta be ready.”
“I thought you always rented the Santa outfit.” Dee usually played Santa for the kids at the orphanage to save Mother having to take them all to one of the big stores. “Doesn’t the hat usually come with it?”
“I don’t mean that one,” Dee called back. “I mean this one.”
Turning away from the stove, Ryo stared. “Oh my god!”
Dee was standing in the doorway to the kitchen, wearing a Santa hat with the words ‘Santa delivers all night long’ printed on it. The bobble on the end was flashing, which seemed appropriate since the hat was the only thing Dee had on.
Maybe dinner could wait a while.
