“Look at these!” The Doctor pointed to the array of watches and clocks on the market stall. “Chronosian. See the tiny jewel there? That’s the mark of quality. Best timepieces in the entire universe. They’re guaranteed to keep perfect time.”
“Better than Swiss watches?” Rory asked. His grandfather had owned a Swiss-made watch; now his uncle had it.
“A gazillion times better, and a bargain price!” The Doctor selected a wristwatch, paid for it, and strapped it on.
“What time is it?” he asked later. “My new watch has stopped.”
Rory laughed. “Looks like you were sold a cheap replica.”
