A/N: Double drabble.
“What’s going on?” Owen demanded, emerging from the medical bay, finding his way by the dim red illumination of the emergency lighting. “I’m in the middle of an autopsy!”
“The Hub’s gone into lockdown,” Tosh told him distractedly, fingers flying over her keyboards.
“I can see that!” Owen snapped. “What I want to know is why?”
“Not sure.” Tosh still didn’t look Owen’s way, too busy running diagnostics programmes, her eyes flicking from one screen to another as windows opened and closed in rapid succession.
“So just turn it off! I can’t see what I’m doing down there.”
“It’s not that simple, Owen. First I need to determine whether there’s some kind of internal or external threat…” Tosh paused, studying reams of data scrolling across one of her screens. “Nothing’s showing up, so it might be a glitch in the security systems.”
“Which means?”
“Everything has to be reset. We’re going to be here for a while.”
“Can’t you just… I don’t know, reverse the polarity or something?”
Now Tosh did look at Owen, glaring at him through her glasses. “This isn’t Star Trek! Reversing the polarity doesn’t fix anything in real life, so shut up and let me concentrate!”
