“Ugh! What IS that?” Rose kept her distance from the creature, which looked like a cross between an armadillo, a frog, and a toy poodle with mange. Tufts of ginger fur sprouted from between its scales, and its wide, froggy mouth seemed to leer at her.
“It’s a Glebulon Snerd,” the Doctor said cheerfully. “Pedigree, if I’m not mistaken. They make excellent pets. The finest specimens change hands for thousands of credits.”
“Why would anyone want something so ugly as a pet?”
“There you go, talking like a human again. On their home planet they’re considered beautiful.”
“I prefer dogs.”
