“What’ve you got there?” Owen asked as Ianto set a bag down on the boardroom table before placing the team’s coffee mugs within easy reach.
“I was passing the bakery near the dry cleaner’s earlier, and it’s been months since we had anything from there, so I popped in and got us some cupcakes as a treat.” Ianto opened the bag and took out two boxes, each containing four delicious looking red velvet cupcakes.
Owen didn’t look as happy as Ianto had expected. Instead, he frowned at the enticing confections.
“There’s a reason we don’t get them anymore. Did you forget what happened last time? We had one cake left over, and Jack ate it while we were still trying to figure out how to divide it between the five of us. You’re the one who decided to avoid arguments by not getting them anymore.”
“Ah, but that was when there were five of us and the cupcakes came in packs of six. Now the bakery does them in packs of four, we won’t have that problem.”
“How d’you work that out? There’s seven of us now, so there’ll still be one left over.”
“No there won’t; you’re forgetting Nosy.”
