Jack jerked back to life and for an instant didn’t know where he was. Gwen was there, and for some reason Rhys…
“What is he doing here?”
He dimly heard Gwen trying to explain, but he wasn’t listening; it all came back in a flash. The warehouse, the bombs…
Icy fingers of fear trailed down Jack’s spine, making him shiver although it wasn’t cold. He didn’t know what was going on, or who was behind it, but there was no doubt the bombs had been meant to kill him and his team. Right now, he didn’t give a damn about the who or the why; all that mattered was his friends, his family. He had to find them. Were they even still alive, somewhere in the wreckage?
They found Tosh first, trapped beneath a girder, but alive. That was a relief, but what of the others? Owen, and Ianto…
Ianto was located next, similarly buried, but also miraculously alive. With Gwen’s help, Jack dug him out. At least Ianto’s dislocated shoulder was easily fixed.
Owen had been dead before the explosion so no change there.
Jack’s people were battered but they’d survived. Now to deal with whoever wanted them dead.
