Summary: Ianto’s first encounter with Jack Harkness isn’t quite what he’d been planning.

A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto Jones was no fool. He was Torchwood, or had been until his workplace had become the scene of a massacre. Now he wasn’t entirely sure what he was, other than alive and desperate. The woman he loved was depending on him to help her, and he was determined to do whatever it took, but he couldn’t do it without certain resources.
Torchwood had got him and Lisa into this situation, so it seemed only right that Torchwood should be the ones to fix things, even though Ianto had no intention of letting Harkness’ team know they were doing so. But to put his plan into action, Ianto first needed access to Torchwood Three’s base, and for that he would have to get a job there.
With that in mind, he’d been tracking the Captain, looking for an opportunity to introduce himself. This wasn’t quite what he’d been hoping for, but it would have to do.
Ianto knew enough about Weevils to know it was a bad idea to tangle with one alone, yet Captain Harkness was doing just that.
He couldn’t let Harkness get killed, it would ruin his plans. Grabbing a fallen branch, Ianto waded into the fray.
