If Owen was expecting Ianto to crack up over Jack vanishing without a trace, he was going to be waiting a long time.
Was Ianto upset that his lover had kissed him in front of everyone right before dropping off the face of the earth, literally unless he missed his guess? Damn right he was upset! It was an asshole thing to do and if, when, Jack finally deigned to show his face again Ianto might just punch him in the mouth. It wouldn’t be the first time, and it sure as hell wouldn’t be undeserved.
But Ianto wasn’t going to fall apart just because the man who’d helped him rebuild his life after Lisa, the man he thought he might be falling in love with, had chosen to go running off with the Doctor without leaving so much as a note.
Life went on. The Rift didn’t just stop because Torchwood was currently without anything resembling effective leadership, and someone had to deal with whatever it chose to dump on Cardiff. Torchwood Three existed for that precise purpose; they had a duty, to the city and to the crown.
Besides, having work to do kept him from missing Jack.
