A/N: Double drabble.
“Sheesh!” Dee clutched at the front of his coat, struggling to fasten the buttons. “I know the forecast said it was gonna be windy, but I didn’t see nothin’ about goddam gales!”
“Must be the buildings!” Ryo replied, his voice all but swept away on another powerful gust as he struggled to restrain his scarf, which was behaving like a living thing. If he let go of it, he’d probably never see it again. “The direction the wind’s coming from, it’s being funnelled straight along the street, turning it into a wind tunnel; there’s nothing to block it!” Gathering the bulk of his scarf in one hand, Ryo managed to wrestle it inside his coat, which he zipped up all the way. It made him look lumpy, but by that point he didn’t care.
Earlier on, Dee had been bemoaning the fact that he’d forgotten his own scarf; now he was glad. Weather like this, things like scarves and umbrellas were liabilities. Hats too, if they weren’t tied on or tight enough to stay put.
“Should be weather warnings in force,” Dee muttered, hunching his shoulders.
“Just be thankful we don’t have far to go.”
“Subway station, here we come!”
