Summary: Trick makes his decision to end the Great War between light and dark fae.

As the war rages around him, Fitzpatrick McCorrigan despairs. The enmity between the light and dark fae is tearing both communities apart, the casualties on both sides more than can be sustained. If it continues for much longer, both light and dark will be wiped from the face of the earth, and that cannot be permitted to happen. Everything they are, and all they could become, might be lost forever.
There is one way to stop this war in its tracks; it might not be the wise thing to do, but Fitzpatrick can think of no other way to end the slaughter, bring peace, and unite the warring sides, and so he acts, as only he can.
Slicing the palm of his left hand, he dips the point of the quill pen in the dark, rich blood welling from the wound, takes a blank sheet of paper, and writes the truce that will bring the fighting to an end, then pens the laws that will preserve the peace he’s created.
As the Blood Sage, whatever is written in his blood comes to pass, for good or ill. All he can hope is that he won’t live to regret his actions.
