A/N: Double drabble.
Gwen was showing off her new boots to Jack.
“Aren’t they amazing? Rhys says they make my legs look longer.” She twirled around on the four-inch heels.
Jack nodded agreement. “They do. I used to have a pair a bit like that. They looked really good. Murder on my feet though.”
Ianto set the tray he was carrying on Jack’s desk, passing his lover his usual blue and white striped mug before handing Gwen hers. “Not really practical in this job though, are they? Not with all the running we end up doing.”
Gwen just laughed. “That’s no problem; I can run in heels.”
“On level ground maybe, but I wouldn’t advise trying it on grass, especially not after the recent rains. The ground’s too soft; you could break your ankle.”
“You worry too much. I’ve worn higher heels than this and never hurt myself.”
“Ianto’s right though, you wouldn’t want your new boots getting damaged, would you? Maybe you should wear something else for work,” Jack suggested.
Later, running flat out across Bute Park in pursuit of a Weevil, Gwen went down hard, twisting her ankle.
“Just a sprain,” Owen said. “You were lucky.”
The boots were completely ruined.
