Ianto appreciates that Jack sometimes needs to hand over control. He also realises how much Jack trusts him. They really do have an almost perfect relationship

Yes, this takes a great deal of trust on both sides, but they're comfortable and sure enough of each other that Jack knows Ianto would never take things too far or abuse the power he holds at these times.
