A/N: Double drabble.
“Date night!” Jack is grinning in anticipation, and why wouldn’t he be? He’s the one who decided that every Friday night would be their date night, barring the end of the world. Now Torchwood Three has enough trained personnel to deal with anything short of the apocalypse, he and Ianto can finally have something approaching a normal relationship, with regular nights out, or in, instead of attempting to snatch the occasional bit of normality in between dealing with rogue Weevils, lost aliens, and a kleptomaniac Rift.
Jack’s enthusiasm is infectious, and Ianto finds himself grinning back. “Our first official date night. I’ve been looking forward to this all week. So, what do you have planned?”
“Planned?” Jack blinks confusion.
“Well, yes. Dates don’t just happen, it’s traditional to plan some sort of activity, even if it’s just booking a table at a restaurant or choosing a movie.”
“Oh.” Now Jack’s frowning. “Only, last time we tried to plan anything we had to cancel our table because of an invasion, the time before it was Weevils, and before that…”
Ianto holds up a hand to stop Jack. “That won’t happen this time. So, dinner and a movie?”
“Sounds good to me.”
