A/N: Double drabble.
“Look at him,” Dee muttered, annoyed. “Takin’ all the credit again, inflatin’ his ego. We were the ones put that sick bastard Darryl Purvis behind bars, not Berkeley frickin’ Rose!”
Purvis was a pedophile responsible for the abduction of at least five young children; it was a safe bet that he wasn’t going to be making any friends where he was going.
“Would you rather be the one up there holding a press conference?” Ryo asked, knowing how much his partner hated being in the spotlight.
“’Course not, but that’s not the point. The way Rose talks, you’d think he was personally responsible for trackin’ Purvis down, slappin’ the cuffs on him, and buildin’ an iron-clad case against him!”
“Which means we already did our part. We’ll testify at the trial, but right now we’ve got other cases to work on. Let the Commissioner handle the press; he’s good at public relations.”
“Likes bein’ the center of attention, you mean. I swear, his head swells any bigger, he won’t fit through his office door.”
“Dee! He’s just doing his job.”
“Betcha he doesn’t even mention our names.”
“I’d prefer it if he didn’t, it’ll keep the press off our backs.”
