Ianto took one look at Jack and hit the central locking on the SUV. Jack tugged at the door handle to no avail.
“Ianto, come on, let me in! This isn’t funny!”
“No way, you’re not getting in here like that! You’d drip all over the floor and the upholstery; I’d never get the smell out!”
“But it wasn’t my fault!”
“You’re the one who ran into slurry, then fell over trying to get out again!”
“I didn’t do it on purpose; I thought it was solid ground!”
“Nevertheless, you’re not getting in the SUV.”
“So what, you’re going to just leave me out here, all cold and wet and stinky? You know what you are? A fair weather friend. Anytime I get a bit mucky you turn against me.”
“It’s not you I’m against, it’s the stench you’re giving off. Do you really want the SUV to smell like that for the next few weeks?”
Jack slumped. “I suppose not. But you can’t just abandon me.”
“I’m not. Just go and stand over there, so I can hose you down.”
“But then I’ll be even wetter!”
“At least you won’t stink as much,”
“You’re a cruel man, Ianto Jones!”
