Title: Indecipherable
Author: badly_knitted
Characters: Bill Potts, Twelfth Doctor.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 565 Symbols/Cymbals at dw100.
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: Bill finds the Gallifreyan language baffling.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.

Bill stares at the ornate symbols. They’re writing, but not as she knows it, and she finds it impossible to imagine anyone reading such elaborate designs the way she can sit down and read a book. Come to that, it’s impossible to imagine anyone WRITING a book using nothing but these complexities. They remind her of crop circles.

“How do you read these?”

The Doctor gives her that look again, the one that says he can’t believe she asked him such a basic question. “It’s simple. Gallifreyan is the most eloquent language in the universe.”

“Not to me it isn’t.”

The End
