Dee woke to morning sunlight streaming through the windows and groaned, covering his eyes.
“Too bright. What happened to the blinds?”
Beside him, Ryo stretched and yawned. He was on the side of the bed closest to the window of their new bedroom, basking in the delicious warmth filtering through the glass.
“You didn’t want to close them last night. Something about moonlight being romantic.” Turning his head, Ryo studied his partner. “You’re really not a morning person, are you?”
One green eye cracked open. “What gave it away?”
“Maybe the way you’re trying to hide from the daylight like a vampire.” Snickering, Ryo propped himself on one elbow, effectively blocking the sunlight as he leaned down to kiss his lover good morning.
“Mm, that’s better. Stay right there, babe.”
“Sorry, no can do. We’ve got a busy day ahead. Besides, I thought you’d be happy to see the sun. I know I am.”
It had been raining almost continuously for over a week, and they’d had to be out in it much of the time. The bright sunshine was a welcome change, for Ryo at least.
“I’m happy,” Dee mumbled. “It’s just way too early for this much sunlight.”
