It's always something.

That's life for poor Buffy.

Thank you.

Yeah. She needed a time out now and then. Not just for a love life.

You're welcome.:)

Nothing about being a Slayer is easy. Faith ended up more of a hindrance than a help.

Kendra: In case the curse does not succeed, this is my lucky stake. I have killed many vampires with it. I call it, “Mr. Pointy.”
Buffy: You named your stake?
Kendra: Yes.
Buffy: Remind me to get you a stuffed animal.

Yes. Putting aside Buffy dying briefly. If Kendra hadn't died, Faith wouldn't have came on the scene so early. Plus being jealous of Buffy didn't help either.

I like how Buffy has "Mr Pointy" as a memory of Kendra. A short-lived alliance between two slayers.

Yes, I wish Kendra would have lived, I was never a Faith fan, she was too much the wild child. Kendra had even less of a life than Buffy.

There was suppose to be a Faith Spinoff, but Eliza Dushku turned it down. Who knows how that would have differed from "Buffy".

Kendra was brought up with little contact with people and was "by the book". Whereas Faith, obviously had a dysfunctional upbringing. But that's not an excuse to go off the deep end completely. It seems to be the norm for such a character. They don't see the error of their ways until it's too late.

I'm not sure would have been interested in a Faith spinoff, shew would have needed to become a better person if it was going to work.

Kendra's sheltered life made her intestesting, It would have been fun watching her learn to be a normal girl.

Yeah. And then what would the character development would be?*shrugs*

Faith Lehane: I gotta be the first Slayer in history to be sponsored by a vampire.*Talking/referring to Angel*

I suppose her road to redemption was sort of covered in the Spinoff. After that, she was kind of like back up for Buffy.

Buffy: I don't take orders. I do things my way.
Kendra: No wonder you died.

They didn't exactly get on the right foot but her character could have been beneficial on a sporadic basis. The actress, Biana Lawson was originally cast as Cordelia but had a contract with another show.

I know, and I think it worked better that way. Charisma Carpenter made a much better Cordy, while Bianca really got the nervous, uncertain vibe of someone out of their comfort zone.

Cordelia Chase : You can't fire me. I'm Vision Girl.*from the series Angel, directed at Angel*

Charisma certainly made the role her own.

Kendra : Dat's me favorite shirt... Dat's me only shirt!

Like most Slayers, they had short lives. So unfair Kendra died too soon. She didn't get to enjoy the little things in life. Like having more clothes to choose from.

Kendra missed out on even more than Buffy did. At least she had family, friends, boyfriends, clothes... She got to be a teenage girl, Kendra was only ever a Slayer.

Kendra questioned this at first because it was drilled in her head that it was a security risk to have emotional ties. But we all know how this wasn't always the case.

Emotional ties were empowering for Buffy. Different ways of doing things but neither is necessarily wrong.

True. It's a balancing act.
