The rain had finally stopped, and sunlight was starting to filter through as the heavy clouds broke up and drifted away, but there was still a strong wind gusting. It wasn’t gale force or anything, not dangerous, just blustery. The kind of wind that could tug at your clothes and sometimes snatch your breath away, the kind of wind that made Ryo’s skin tingle even when he wasn’t out in it.
Now that he wouldn’t get drenched he was starting to wonder why he was still cooped up indoors when he could be making the most of the break in the weather. The storm had been raging most of the weekend so he and Dee had stayed in, but now…
Ryo tossed his book aside and jumped to his feet. “I’m going out.”
“What?” Dee looked up from the sports pages. “In this wind?”
“I need to be outside.” He couldn’t explain his restlessness to his lover, just felt he might explode if he didn’t move. He needed the wind in his hair, needed to run.
“Want some company?”
“Depends if you can keep up.” Ryo laced his running shoes. “I plan on racing the wind.”
“Think I’ll wait here.”
