Shame nothing better than a nice bag of chips. You'd think Gwen would have learned not to judge aliens by Terran norms. But she never did.

Gwen has a very rigid mindset and isn't interested in being more open-minded.

The little alien won't mind not eating chips as long as it gets fed the right kind of food for its species. It just wants to feel better.
