“Drakey, that’s so sweet! Thank you!” JJ’s eyes sparkled with delight, making Drake’s heart skip a beat and his stomach do that weird butterfly thing. Other parts of him were reacting to JJ’s enthusiastic thank you kiss.
“You really like it? You’re not just saying that?”
“Of course not; I love it! And I love you too!”
It was only a silly little gift, something Drake had spotted while looking for a birthday present for his mom, but the moment he’d seen it he’d had to get it for his boyfriend. JJ had a passion for what most people would think of as tacky novelties, and a furry rabbit-shaped pencil sharpener where you had to shove your pencil up the rabbit’s fuzzy butt was about as tacky and tasteless as you could get, which probably said something about JJ’s sense of humour, especially considering Drake’s nickname for him was Snuggle Bunny.
“I’m glad. I saw it and immediately thought of you.”
JJ giggled. Swear to God, no one giggled as infectiously as JJ Adams.
“And I bet I know what you were thinking.” JJ slowly picked up a pencil and sharpened it, giving Drake a knowing look.
Drake felt his face heat up. Normally he wasn’t one to blush but he couldn’t help himself; that seemingly innocent gesture sent a wave of heat through his body.
“Are you doing anything tonight?” He tried and failed to keep his voice steady.
JJ winked. “I rather think we’ll be following bunny’s example.”
