I always wondered why the Watchers Council was from England, while the Slayer was from another district. Maybe I'm reading too much into this.

Slayers can be from anywhere in the world, and they go where they're needed. The Watcher's Council is a typically British Old Boys network. I'm sure there are other people around the world who fight vampires their way, but the Watchers Council are sort of the guardians of generations of Slayer, right from the very first one in prehistoric times.

Thanks for clarifying that. It seemed like just a coincidence that Buffy ended up in Sunnydale. The pilot is suppose to be a continuation from the movie.
