Ianto was looking flustered and agitated when he came up from the vaults, where he’d been giving the residents their evening meal. Jack noticed immediately; he prided himself on his awareness of his lover’s moods, particularly since it helped him to avoid being served decaf.
“Problems with the residents?
“How did you guess?”
“What happened? Did Yuk try to sneak up on you when you weren’t looking?”
At least that drew an unwilling smile from Ianto. “Yuk never does anything when someone might observe it. No, the problem is Bert; he’s misbehaving.”
Bert was the newest Weevil in residence, a feisty young male who’d probably been driven from his pack for challenging the pack leader.
“What’s he doing?”
“Being a disruptive influence. He keeps taking his overalls off and… flaunting himself. I think I’ll have to move him to another cell; he’s getting Janet quite worked up.”
“Naughty Bert! Can’t blame him though, Janet’s very attractive by Weevil standards. Why not just put them in together, let nature take its course?”
“Are you serious? What if he gets her pregnant?”
“I’m sure Owen would be thrilled.”
“So now I’m a Weevil matchmaker. Just don’t ask me to be the godparent!”
