Ryo seemed to have a blind spot when it came to anyone, male or female, flirting with him. It just never seemed to register.
“So.” The woman eased closer to Ryo at the bar, smiling coyly, looking up at him from beneath her lashes. She was about as unsubtle as it was possible to be, stopping just short of walking her fingers up Ryo’s chest. “What’re you doing later?”
Ryo sighed. “Ironing. It’s amazing how fast it piles up, and Bikky, my foster son, needs his basketball kit for tomorrow. Sometimes it seems my life’s an endless round of work, laundry, and cleaning. Not that I’d change anything, raising a kid is amazing, but it’s hard work.”
Dee snickered as the woman’s expression changed from flirtatious to annoyed; he’d better step in and rescue his baby. As entertaining as it was watching Ryo completely fail to notice he was being hit on, it would be less fun if the woman threw her drink at him and stormed off.
“Hey, babe, you ready to go?” he asked, slipping his arm around Ryo’s waist.
“Just let me finish my drink.”
“No rush.” Dee met the woman’s eyes, silently telling her, ‘He’s mine’.
