Torchwood faced the invading warriors with their characteristic mix of courage, bravado, sarcasm, and disbelief.
“Oh look, alien invaders; must be Tuesday.” That was Ianto.
“Did they have to pick today? I just got my hair done! Rhys is taking me out to dinner tonight. I hope they hurry this up; I don’t want to be late again. He’ll never forgive me!”
“Look on the bright side, Gwen; you might get killed!” Owen said cheerfully, before turning his attention to the aliens. “Come on, you fuckers, what’re you waiting for? We ‘aven’t got all day!”
“What’re they wearing? Is that furry stuff part of their bodies or some kind of armour?” Tosh was frowning at the approaching horde.
“Weren’t you supposed to be figuring out a way to jam their weapons?” Jack asked his tech expert.
“Oh, I already did that.”
“When were you planning on telling me? Never mind, are we all ready?”
“Just waiting on your orders, Sir.” Ianto calmly checked his Torchwood Special.
“Okay, people, get ready, looks like they’re about to charge!”
The would-be invaders broke into a lumbering run; the team stood their ground.
“FIRE!”
The aliens turned tail and fled, back to their ship.
