So much for their relaxing Hawaiian vacation. How the hell had they managed to get mixed up in this, conscripted to help the 5-0 task force apprehend a murderer?
“He’s even more of a loose cannon than you are,” Ryo commented, in reference to Commander Steve McGarrett.
“Guy’s got a few screws loose if you ask me,” Dee agreed, slouching back against their rental car with his hands jammed in the pockets of his chinos. “Personally I think he’s overcompensating for his partner. That dude’s so uptight he makes the old badger look the image of Zen calm.”
Ryo couldn’t help laughing. “He really does love to argue, doesn’t he?”
“Yeah, poor guy doesn’t know what to make of you.”
Detective Danny Williams had so far completely failed to ruffle Ryo’s feathers in the slightest, although he’d had a fair few energetic differences of opinion with Dee, who was clearly relishing the verbal sparring. Danny seemed to be the kind of person who was never happy unless he had something to complain about, and when he complained he made sure everyone knew about it.
“We’ve got three weeks in paradise; I refuse to let anything annoy me,” Ryo said, grinning.
