Dee was stuck on a stakeout with JJ, listening to the little guy babble about love and romance, and snuggling in front of a blazing fire, but for once he didn’t mind.
“We had big mugs of hot chocolate, and we toasted marshmallows over the fire and fed them to each other, and the rain was pouring down outside but that just made us feel even cosier. And then we snuggled on the sofa and watched a really silly movie, and Drakey laughed so much he got hiccups and I was laughing too, and he said he loved hearing me laugh and I should always be that happy. And I really am happy, because he’s the perfect boyfriend and…”
JJ had to stop then to get his breath back and Dee took the opportunity to get a few words in.
“See? Didn’t I always say you were chasin’ the wrong guy? All that time you wasted on me when Drake is exactly the kinda guy you need, someone who needs lookin’ after and loves to snuggle as much as you do.”
“I know.” JJ gave a happy sigh, smiling at Dee, but the stars dancing in his eyes were for the man who’d just moved in with him. “You were right all along, Dee, and if I hadn’t been so stupidly obsessed, if I’d only listened to you…” He trailed off with a wry smile. “It was a little bit your fault though, for being nice to me at the academy and standing up for me when I got picked on. I guess I caught a little bit of hero worship back then.”
“Ah, who can blame ya?” Dee joked. “Who wouldn’t want a piece of this gorgeous bod?”
JJ giggled. “I don’t know how Ryo puts up with you!”
