A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto had just finished cleaning out the cells when Owen came wandering in, hands jammed in the pockets of his white coat, trying to look casual although it was obvious he wanted to check on the welfare of the permanent and temporary residents.
While Ianto was the one stuck with the chore of mucking out and feeding them, as medic it was Owen’s responsibility to make sure all the alien creatures under Torchwood’s care remained healthy. He might not have the best bedside manner in the world, but that didn’t mean he didn’t care. Besides, it was also his job to learn as much about the various species as he could. You never knew when such knowledge might prove vital to someone’s safety.
“So, how’re this lot today?”
Ianto shrugged. “See for yourself.”
Nodding, Owen moved towards Janet’s cell. She turned her back on him and sat facing the far wall.
Owen tapped on the Perspex. “What’s up with Janet?”
“She’s insulted because you’re spending all your time down here observing the new Weevil. She thinks you don’t love her anymore.”
“She’s a Weevil!”
“So what? Doesn’t mean she doesn’t have feelings. She’s smitten with you.”
“Okay, now I’m insulted!”
