A/N: Double drabble.
Jack knew he shouldn’t have pressed the button; it was something he’d warned every member of the team not to do on countless occasions because if you didn’t know exactly what an alien device was and what it did, pressing buttons at random was the height of stupidity. He knew that better than anyone, so what on earth had possessed him to do it?
Okay, so he’d been bored almost to the point of tears having spent the past four hours slogging through a pile of paperwork that he’d still only managed to reduce by half its original height, but he could have relieved his boredom by going to see what the others were doing, or by taking a walk. He didn’t have to go poking at the buttons on the piece of tech Owen and Gwen had retrieved that morning. It had just looked so tempting sitting there, its little lights twinkling merrily as if to say, ‘Go ahead, try me; you know you want to.’
So he had.
Now every scrap of paperwork, both completed and yet to be done, was scattered across his office floor. It would have to be sorted all over again!
