A/N: Double drabble and a half, 250 words.
Sometimes Ryo feels like he’s wearing too many hats, trying to do too much, spreading himself too thin. He had enough on this plate just making the leap from uniformed officer to detective, having to learn the ropes all over again. In many ways it was a different skill set, not to mention a whole lot more responsibility, and he’d gotten thrown in at the deep end investigating a drug related homicide.
But then he’d taken on even more responsibility by deciding to become Bikky’s foster parent, a job he had no training for whatsoever. As if that wasn’t enough, a couple of years down the line and he was in a serious relationship with his partner. He probably needs his head examined.
So here he is, juggling being a detective, mother and father to a young teen, tutor, cook, chauffeur, and housekeeper, cheerleader at all of Bikky’s basketball games, and Dee’s lover to boot. There really aren’t enough hours in the day for all the things he needs to do, and he can’t assign a lesser priority to any of his responsibilities; they’re all equally important.
And yet… he wouldn’t want to give up any of them because he loves Bikky and Dee, he loves the feeling of being needed, and he loves what he does for a living. This is the life he’s chosen for himself, and he can’t imagine anything more fulfilling. So what if he sometimes feels utterly exhausted? He’s got everything he wants in life.
