Before Ryo, marriage was something that happened to other people, and from what Dee had seen, it frequently ended in divorce. He’d been in a number of relationships, some of them had even gotten pretty serious, but he’d never so much as considered proposing to any of his lovers.
Ryo was different, had been from the start; he was the one Dee couldn’t let get away, no matter what it took. Winning the man of his dreams had taken time and effort. Getting to a point where he could ask Ryo to move in with him had taken longer still since Dee had understood without needing to ask that Ryo would never consider such a move while he still had the brat to look after.
Now though, Bikky was in college, Ryo was happily settled in Dee’s apartment, and things between them couldn’t be better.
Or could they?
Marriage between same sex couples was legal in quite a few states now, and while Dee didn’t need to put a ring on Ryo’s finger to know his baby belonged to him, it was a commitment he realised he wanted to make, so that Ryo would know Dee was in this relationship for keeps, if he hadn’t already figured that out.
They were planning a short vacation in Vegas, and there were a ton of wedding chapels there, so… Maybe it was a crazy idea, even a bit sudden since they hadn’t so much as broached the subject of marriage, but what did he have to lose by asking? Dee had always been spontaneous and even if Ryo said no it wouldn’t change anything; they were still living together.
But if he said yes…
Dee wanted nothing more than to be married to this amazing man, for the rest of their lives.
