It had taken a couple of days, but the pain of being saddle sore after his first attempt at horseback riding had finally eased enough that Dee could at least sit down without wincing. Annoyingly, Ryo had seemed fine by the following morning, even suggested they go riding again, but Dee had nixed that idea; certain sensitive parts of his anatomy had already suffered more than enough abuse and he wasn’t about to add to the damage.
“I’m done with ridin’,” he’d declared. “If you wanna go, it’s your choice, but you can count me out.”
Ryo hadn’t argued and instead, they’d taken the ferry over to the Isle of Wight, deciding to spend a couple of days there, exploring the island’s quaint villages and places of interest.
That night, in their room at a small hotel on the far side of the island, Ryo had brought up the subject of riding again. “I think I’m going to take it up regularly when we go back to New York, maybe even take Bikky, but I should probably get a bit more practice first.
Dee dug his heels in. “Fine, but you’ll be on your own if you do!”
“I don’t think so,” Ryo said with a wicked grin as he pushed Dee flat on the bed and straddled his hips. “I figured I’d practice by riding you…”
“Oh yeah?” Dee’s scowl vanished, replaced by a broad grin. “Now that’s the kind of ridin’ I can get behind one hundred percent!”
