A/N: Double drabble.

Ryo used to think it was easy to distinguish right from wrong, but that had been before his parents were brutally gunned down on account of a simple mistake. They’d picked up the wrong package at customs and had been murdered because of it. Worse, the police had instantly assumed they were guilty of smuggling drugs and nothing Ryo told them had convinced them otherwise.

So he’d joined the police force, thinking he could perhaps prevent similar miscarriages of justice, and now here he was face to face with one of the men responsible for his parents’ deaths, even though he could never prove it in a court of law.

What should he do? The devastated eighteen year old inside him screamed for vengeance; killing Leo Grant was the right thing to do, it would be justice for all the people whose lives he’d taken. But murdering an unarmed man in cold blood, even a killer like Grant, was wrong in the eyes of the law. It would cost Ryo his career and his freedom, because someone was bound to find out.

So he just stood, paralysed, on the knife-edge between right and wrong, unable to do anything at all.

The End
