A/N: Double drabble.
Standing beneath the shower spray, Ryo let the hot water wash away the sweat and grime of another long, exhausting day at work. There was blood too, although not much; the shallow cut on his cheekbone stung sharply as he washed his face and the graze on his forearm burned. They were minor injuries, the result of a brief scuffle with a carjacker who hadn’t wanted to come quietly. Ryo had quickly subdued him, cuffing him and reading him his rights. Criminals never learned; always thought they could get away. Now the kid had added resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer to the original charge. Not so smart.
The hot spray pounded down on Ryo’s back and shoulders, working its magic on sore muscles, melting away tension and helping him to relax. The headache that had been hovering most of the afternoon was starting to ease, and more than anything Ryo wished he could stay right where he was for the next hour or two, enjoying the soothing water massage. The hot water wouldn’t last forever though, and there were chores that needed his attention, laundry to do, and dinner to cook.
Being a single father was hard work.
