A/N: This one’s a double drabble.
The alleys of New York were a maze, especially down here near the river. It wasn’t a pleasant place to be, but when you’re trying to bring in a murder suspect, you have to go where they are.
Dee and Ryo kept close together, guns drawn and held down by their sides, safeties off, all their senses on alert. The sun was already on its way down and at this time of year that meant they only had a couple of hours at best before it got dark. Neither of them wanted to still be here after sunset, there were no streetlights, but they had their flashlights, just in case they were needed.
They’d donned their bulletproof vests too; it marked them out as cops, but sometimes you had to weigh up the risks and take whatever seemed the least hazardous course of action.
“I can think of things I’d rather be doing,” Dee murmured.
Ryo pulled a face as he inadvertently stepped on something that squelched beneath his foot. “So can I, but right now we have a job to do.”
Anyone who thought police work was glamorous and action packed like in the movies should see them now.
