A/N: This one’s a double drabble.
Twenty-five years married; it hardly seemed possible! Now here they were, retired from the force and running the bar down the street from the 27th precinct, which was still called McGinty’s because no other name seemed right.
While that remained the same, other things were vastly different, not least the fact that everyone now knew they were married and celebrating their Silver Anniversary.
The place was packed. Bikky and Carol were there, with their three kids, the eldest just graduated from college. Bikky had gone into coaching when a knee injury had ended his pro career. Carol was a successful physiotherapist and Bikky credited her with the fact that he was still able to play basketball for fun.
Drake and JJ were there too, although as they’d only gotten married after they retired, they were newlyweds by comparison.
Dee scanned the crowds, spotting Ted and his wife, Jim and his girlfriend, Berkeley Rose and Diana, even the old Badger and his family, sitting in a corner with Mother, still a force to be reckoned with even in her eighties. Ryo’s aunt and uncle were at another table with Carol’s aunt.
Everyone that mattered was there.
“Let’s get this party started!”
