Title: Hunter And Quarry
Author: badly_knitted
Characters: Dee, Ryo.
Rating: PG-13
Setting: Throughout the manga.
Summary: Dee sometimes feels like a hunter.
Written Using: The dw100 prompt ‘Quarry’.
Disclaimer: I don’t own FAKE, or the characters. They belong to the wonderful Sanami Matoh.
A/N: This one’s a double drabble.

Sometimes, in his most whimsical moments, Dee pictures himself as a seasoned hunter, stalking his quarry, tracking the elusive beast until he has it cornered in its lair. It’s not like capturing criminals; that’s a far more direct kind of hunting most of the time with little subterfuge involved, at least on the part of the police.

Hunting Ryo is more subtle sport, requiring delicacy and guile, manoeuvring the other man into a position from which there’s no chance of escape before pouncing and claiming his prize…

That’s where the fantasy sort of collapses though, because he never quite gets to the claiming part. Oh, he steals a kiss or two every now and then, sometimes manages a bit of fondling and groping as well, and one time he even got the chance to taste his prize, tongue sweeping across smooth, warm skin, but that’s been the closest he’s come so far to achieving his goal.

It’s frustrating, but at the same time it fuels his determination to keep trying, because one taste was never going to be enough. Like any hunter, he won’t quit until he bags his prize, however long it takes. Hunting requires a lot of patience.
