Blaise has never been particularly well behaved. He's smart; a combination of book-smarts and intelligence from a life lived on the edge. He's never given much thought to laws - either Muggle or magical. He's never really given much thought to anything beyond the moment.
At school, Blaise cut classes and hung out by the lake, drinking vodka and smoking his Russian cigarettes, idly tossing fish-sticks into the water for the giant squid. When he did go to class, his professors would berate him, give him detention and then grumble that his homework was always nearly perfect.
Blaise gets bored easily, you see, and has a short attention span. In Muggle terms, he might be classified as having ADD, but the Muggle medical terminology hasn't become part of the Magical world yet. Blaise doesn't think it ever will. He's never let the boundaries imposed by the Ministry of Magic stop him from sampling all parts of society, everything from sneaking out of the dorms to go to Muggle nightclubs in Aberdeen or slinking around the Ministry itself and chatting up interns.
He's popular, with his down to earth nature, his easy going charm, his good looks. His bad boy attitude makes him appealing to many and he's not above using that to get what he wants. Blaise sometimes take the Slytherin creed of 'ends justify the means' to extremes, but then, as Blaise will occasionally tell his lover, life is for living and living should be fun.
He's never let learning experiences end when he walks out the door of Hogwarts. In Blaise's opinion, there's knowledge everywhere, if you know how to look and if you're open minded enough. He finds the overly secretive attitudes of the wizarding world, particularly the purebloods - yes, even those with Muggle fascinations and moderate views like the Weasley's - to be counterproductive. Blaise would rather spend his days wandering around the countryside, soaking up the sun's rays and stomping through knee high grass, the scent of earth and summer in his nostrils be his library as much as one filled with books. He'd rather sit in pubs and chat to people, share smokes and listen and learn than socialise with wizardkind only.
Blaise doesn't really see why he has the attraction for so many that he does. After all, in Blaise's life, ever since his seventh year, there's only been one person for him, and that person is everything to him, then, now, in the future. Blaise shares his experiences and his knowledge, is happy to go out and learn and soak up life experiences while his lover sits in a candlelit room and reads a book.
Life is for living and for learning and loving and Blaise lives, learns and loves every day of his.
