Bahamas Kennel Club 22nd Annual Dog Show
So the dog show here in The Bahamas was March 20-21. My plan was to bring my pup for socialisation and take my personal protection dog to finish her rally novice title.
This past Sunday however they informed me that there were no rottweilers entered for breed ring and would I please enter Gold. Well... okay that's a week I have to train my dog for ring? I've never handled a dog in ring I've never had any interest past cheering on my friends.
Well yesterday we took best of breed (of course she was the only dog) and got 5 points to her title and got second in group. Today we took third in group (only beat by the siberian husky who took best in show and the doberman).
My little working girl is now Champion of The Bahamas Rott-berger Gold RN. (We only have one show a year so instead of 15 points it's 10 to champion) I think I learned to show fairly well given I had 5 days!
For the obedience she took first place in rally novice the first day and then rally high score. Today didn't go so well with a third and forth place in rally. She just wasn't that into it and because my dad was marvellously late to pick me up we had little time to work on anything. Today there was also a flip finish sign both runs in rally and well, I've never taught Gold a flip finish. All in all we did pretty well!
