I'm not very good at updating, so here's a few:
I got the crap beat out of my right arm at the war muster this weekend. This added insult to injury from the practice the previous thursday. I am going to get out the rest of my paint buckets and make some armor to cover the front and rear of the upper part of my right arm. I also took a couple of blows to the forearm that bruised me up pretty good even through the heavy leather and foam backing. Caspar suggested riveting some strips of steel to the armor which would make it much more rigid. I will probably do exactly that.
The book is practically done at this point. I have some colleagues reading it through for technical accuracy as well as grammar and spelling mistakes that I missed. I anticipate delivering the manuscript to the publisher within the next month. At that point it goes through their editing process and once that's worked out it's off to the printers, since the manuscript is camera-ready thanks to LaTeX.
