And there it is. The last of his selfish confessions. The one that he's kept buried even deeper than the rest because he had a life before this. He had a career and he had friends and yeah, it might have been a year since his divorce, but he had love, too. He can't even imagine that now. Can't think about leaving these children who are his responsibility to go and find someone just for him. The other half to make him whole. He can't even dream about it because it's not just him he has to concern himself about now. Anyone he brings into his life, becomes their lives.
Who would want an instant family of three with a neurotic father figure anyhow?
OR: the one where Liam takes on the biggest responsibility of his life, and a fruit eating best mate might just be the best addition to this ride. Future!fic, as canon as that can be.
