“I didn’t mean it.” Their faces fall. “Honestly, how would we reverse-psychology Louis into telling Liam how much he likes him?”
“We thought you’d figure that part out,” Niall says, shrugging.

Her week was boring compared to his-shopping with her friends, studio days and sitting through mind-numbingly dull meetings with legal. He understands her life and she understands his. It’s wonderful. “Listen,” she says, interrupting herself quite without warning, “Could you just do me a favor and come home already? I’m going out of my mind without you. I think I’ve redecorated like three times already.”
Even though he smiles, his heart hurts. He wants nothing more than to wake up with her and cook breakfast and tell her how much he hates her redecorations. (He has never understood her fascination with redecorating.) “What if you gave me like, three weeks?”
“Too long. Can you be back by Friday? There’s like a million episodes of Strictly on the Sky box, we can watch them and have sex all weekend.”
“Don’t tempt me,” he says miserably.
She giggles, but then she sobers. “I really miss you.”
He knows. God, does he know. “Have I told you how excited I am to come home and marry you? I’m so excited. I love you so much, you know that?”
