100 Things #89 - Music Blogs are AWESOME
or i've found a few things online over the years that give great music for free or at the very least link you to new sounds that you might never have found before (because honestly, i never listen to the radio, just mixes friends or strangers make and recommendations from that). [and by mixes i mostly mean 8TRACKS]
SO a few places i score good tunes from:
FOLKPOPMUSIC: they tweet fantastic links, DM you great tunes and are generally lovely. Linked this little beauty today
THIS IS THAT SONG where one guy uploads a new/old tune every day and a reason WHY you should give it a listen. i love what he says about music - how much he's seen and the strange bands that he's into.
[I found this band a FOREVER ago basically because of the film clip starring one Dan Radcliffe but its SUCH a TUNE!]
and there's always the big/more well known sites like PITCHFORK and NPR - NPR has amazing podcasts of their recording sessions that I keep FOREVER. STEREOGUM is another fav place and THE AU REVIEW i like for things that are around where I am.
