And i KNOW that merlin-games is still running so there should be my REGULAR inbox updates of those and the HD kink fest is also posting but I HAVE NOTHING IN MY INBOX!

I HAVE NOTHING TO READ AND HAVE TO RESORT TO SEARCHING IN AO3!!

From my admittedly limited understanding of this issue, I think you are not alone. I've never received any notifications, but I think that's my own fault in my settings. I know of at least two, if not a whole bunch more, who are suffering the same problem.

Probably LJ trying to fix something that isn't broken again.
