irony is dead. long live irony. (part 1)
omigod you guys--last night was so much fun! i have things to say about it (like, thoughts, or something) but i just want to take a second to say that it was really great. seriously. i felt really welcome and safe and the music was fantastic and it took me a minute to warm up but i danced my ass off and i even got comfortable enough to get up on the "stage" with christina (after a few drinks, haha) and dance to "sheila take a bow" and "friday i'm in love," and i drank a nontrivial amount but i didn't get super drunk just nice and buzzed, and there were pretty people and goofy people and dressed up people and dressed down people and hot people and normal people and they were all dancing, and everyone sang along to "white wedding," and everybody was just obviously unafraid of looking silly, because we all looked silly, because that was the point. we were just people with/in bodies and we were doing things with them.
and it was good.
