so i just watched the opening ceremonies of the beijing olympics.
i found them breathtakingly, heartbreakingly beautiful. graceful, thoughtful, sensitive but not at all timid, very chinese and very modern, both in the best possible sense. i almost cried several times out of sheer wonder.
maybe it's stupid. but it gives me hope. for the future. for the world.
