2. david bowie "after all" (the man who sold the world) - david bowie is unquestionably endlessly cool.
3. brian eno "baby's on fire" (here come the warm jets) - winamp having a bit of a glam laugh, eh?
4. nick cave "let love in" (let love in) - god i love this song. this album. this man!
5. elvis costello "pay it back" (my aim is true) - one of my favorite albums of all time, seriously.
6. arcade fire "the well and the lighthouse" (neon bible) - one of my favorite songs on what may in fact become one of my favorite albums of all time. must amend my 'essential albums' list to reflect this. yes.
7. smashing pumpkins "in the arms of sleep" (mellon collie) - usually when i do this i get a bunch of songs i only kind of like. but to call this song a 'favorite' would be a gross understatement. what's up, winamp?
8. bob dylan "if you see her say hello" (blood on the tracks) - i am beginning to suspect my computer is possessed. it is somehow producing the best mix tape EVER.
9. feist "when i was a young girl" (let it die) - finally, a girl. <3<3<3
10. belle & sebastian "fox in the snow" (if you're feeling sinister) - sometimes almost counts as a girl...
