Just south of Lacey, it is not raining tonight. I know because as I look out the window the only think I can see in the blackness is the moon. Only one star can be seen just below and to the right of the moon. I guess this could be one hole in an otherwise cloudy and rainy sky...but I don't think so.
Upon completing my second week as Housekeeping Manager at The Westin Portland, I am on the train back to Seattle for a rather quick 36 hours. I have also come to realise the first of what I expect to be many downfalls of the new job: 3 hours after finishing work, my right hand still smells of bleach. At least I know my hand was effected by the bleach. The same thing cannot be said for the bathroom door of room 1208, which, after scrubbing for what was probably too long, I simply had re-painted. I don't like that it came to that.
The positives, at least of yet, still outweigh the one negative. Many associates have come to me to say that they are much happier to come to work and be in the guest rooms since I have started. That they are noticing a difference. Those words mean the world to me.
I have been listening to the same play list for far too long, but I can't get enough of: Dan Black, Little Boots, Esser, Gossip, and Natalie Portman's Shaved Head. Also, information I must impart to the masses.
Also...Kyle...
